S. Avtar Singh Makkar, has been unanimously reelected as the President of SGPC for fourth time in a row during the annual election of SGPC held today at Teja Singh Samundri Hall, Golden Temple Complex, Amritsar.

The election process started today afternoon when Bibi Jagir Kaur, former president, SGPC and Alwinder Pal Singh Pakhoke proposing name of S. Avtar Singh Makkar which was unanimously agreed upon by all SGPC members.

Meanwhile, one of the SGPC member from Haryana suggested name of Karnail Singh Panjoli, SGPC member from Fatehgarh Sahib. Though Karnail Singh instantly denied his interest to become SGPC president.

Besides SGPC president, the other executive memebers elected are:

1. Raghujit Singh – Senior Vice President

2. Kewal Singh Badal – Junior Vice President

3. Sukhdev Singh Bhaur – General Secretary

4. Eleven executive members : Baba Tek Singh Dhanola, Rajinder Singh Mehta, Dayal Singh Koliawali, Bibi Harbhjan Kaur, Surjit Singh Garhi, Karnail Singh Panjoli, Mohan Singh Bhangi, Sukhwinder Singh Chabbal, Suba Singh Dhabwali, Nirmail Singh and Baba
Baldev Singh Khalsa from Haryana.
