Hemkunt Sahib Yatra will resume from September 21. This was confirmed by Narinderjit Singh Bindra, spokesperson, Hemkunt Sahib Trust yesterday. He said Uttrakhand government has given permission to start Hemkunt Sahib Yatra from September 21.

Bill imposing Ban on Turban presented in Quebec Assembly

Despite criticism across the Canada and from various international organizations, the Quebec State government in Canada today went ahead and presented the Charter of Values bill in the state assembly which imposes ban on any religious symbol including turban, Hijab, Burqa, cross etc. while a person is working in government service including Doctors, Teacher, Judge or police service.

Jathedar Avtar Singh admitted to Hospital

He has been admitted to Hero Heart DMC hospital in Ludhiana last night. After a complaint of chest pain late evening yesterday, he was immediately taken to the hospital.

Hemkunt Sahib Yatra to Start Later this Month

If situation improves, Hemkunt Sahib Yatra is very likely to start later this month. According to S. Narinderjit Singh Bindra, Chairman, Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib Trust, the trust and Uttrakhand government is seriously looking at possibility of starting the Hemkunt Sahib Yatra in next 10-15 days. Since the Yatra usually closes around first week of October, there is a possibility of opening the Yatra for last 10-15 days this year.
